The hub shell is CNC machined in Barnoldswick, England from a single forged billet of 2014-T6 aluminium and uses a 7075 aluminium cassette body. Both these are now machined to allow fitting of the new generation of 11 speed cassettes from Shimano, but still allow for use of 9 and 10 speed Shimano and Sram cassettes by means of a removable spacer. Hubs are also available to suit Campagnolo 9, 10 and 11 speed cassettes. The hub is also fitted with our new 40 tooth ratchet with 4 pawl engagement, giving a quick, dependable drive.

Its specifically tuned 12% ovality helps to smooth out your pedalling action and make those extended climbs to the top of the trails less painful. Also, when you're on the way back down again, you'll enjoy excellent chain retention thanks to its narrow/wide tooth profile. When used along with a clutch style rear mech, you don't need a chainguide, so overall weight is reduced and your drivetrain runs quieter and with less drag. Standard and Boost Oval rings are available in a 28/30/32 and 34 tooth sizes. Standard Oval ring available in our 6 different colours (Boost only available in Black). It's strong enough for downhill use, yet still light enough for cross-country, this Hope Conventional Headset includes custom-made stainless steel bearings (which are replaceable). The cups, taper ring and crown race (which is split for easy installation and removal) are all machined from 2014 T6 aluminium. It is also possible to fit a standard 1.1/8" steerer using an additional conversion crown (sold separately). All Hope headsets come complete with the Head Doctor. This Hope EC34 Headset also has advanced sealing that's achieved through an adjustable taper ring cover and integrated rubber seal. The bearings also incorporate their own sealing and are made from stainless steel to resist corrosion - a real advantage over a conventional steel bearing.

The two aluminium wedges of the strong and reliable Hope Head Doctor simply pull together and expand inside any 1.1/8" fork steerer tube, giving you a solid thread to pull the stem down.
Each seat-post employs 24 individual ‘plies’ of carbon, pre-impregnated with a highly toughened epoxy resin system, designed to ensure a safe and rugged unit. The bulk of the laminate comprises Unidirectional T700 fibre – the highest strength Standard Modulus fibre available. (Unidirectional fibres provide the maximum tensile strength and stiffness with minimum weight.) This is combined with strategically positioned plies of 3K twill woven fabric, adding hoop strength to resist clamping forces and mitigating failure mode in the event of serious crash damage. The 1K 2x2 twill weave fabric outer ply, also contributes in this respect together with a super smooth finish and striking visual aesthetic.
Made from tough and durable 2014 aluminium, the four sizes in the Hope Space Doctor Headset spacers pack include two 5mm, one 10mm and one 20mm size. This enables you to run a low and slammed setup (ideal for road racing or cross country (XC) riding) or a more upright setup (ideal for road endurance, all mountain (AM) or enduro riding). The colouring and finish on these custom machined head spacers complement Hope's headsets and stems perfectly.
