When seeking to create a base layer for freezing cold days, Castelli’s design team turned to the insulating power of Polartec® Alpha®. What they found is that on its own it tended to feel a bit too damp and clammy for use as a stand-alone base layer. However, paired up with a quick-wicking base it offered superb warmth and comfort.
