ODI has a long and established racing heritage. Our first generation Lock-On System was born out of the need to quickly fasten grips for downhill racing and quickly became the standard for racers everywhere. We are pushing the bar even further and have partnered up with 2-time UCI World Cup Downhill Champion Aaron Gwin to develop the next evolution in race-inspired grips. The new AG-1 grips were redesigned from the ground up with racing specific featuresWhen we partnered with Aaron Gwin to develop a grip, we set out to make the most technically advanced DH grip ever made. We started from the ground up with an entirely new single-clamp locking system which offers over 10mm of extra grip space and allows for a more ergonomic feel on the either end of the grip. We topped this off with multiple layers of gripping surface utilizing a unique rib pattern that gives positive traction without making the grip feel larger. To ensure that the grip would stand up to the abuse of world class DH courses, we added alloy reinforced ends which combines the strength of aluminum with the forgiveness of a plastic end. We packed all of this into an ultra slim grip for optimal feedback and split second decision making. Traction grips are developed for extreme conditions and for those that want additional mechanical grip.Traction grips use an advanced design and need to be set up correctly. With the words 'top' and 'forward' accompanied by some useful arrows, setting up the Traction grips is a cinch. The reason for this positioning is that the grip pattern alternates around its circumference to more effectively interact with each part of your hand.The traction grip has six unique features;1. Forward Facing Ramped Finger Ridges;When pulling back on the handlebars, the majority of the grip and torque is concentrated through the fingers. Forward facing, ramped ridges in the finger area give increased grip when pulling back, yet lay flat in normal riding conditions, for improved comfort.2. Rearward Facing Angled Palm Grooves;When braking or steep descending, the majority of the torque and grip is concentrated through the palm. Grooves cut with a rearward facing angle give improved grip in this situation. As the groove is cut into the grip, it gives a comfortable, large surface area for the palm in normal riding conditions.3. Consistent Pattern;The grooves and ridges are consistent across the width of the grip, to accommodate riding with your hand in any position on the grip.
