So when designing our first full range of junior bikes, Boardman have put Forwards, Faster, Further on each bike to keep the childlike joy and freedom of pushing the boundaries on a bike at the front of our minds.The JNR range comprises six models, each with the goal of getting kids outside, cycling and exploring whilst supporting their developmental progression. From those first freewheeling forward movements on the 12" balance bike to the pride of mastering pedalling and going faster than before on the 20", to a family adventure venturing further on the 26", we've carefully considered every aspect of each bike's fit and function. Function hasn't come at the expense of form though, hidden welds and premium metallic paint finishes help the bikes to look as good as they ride.Our goal is to ensure that the simple act (after some practice) of riding a Boardman JNR is as fun and empowering as possible. OK, so they've mastered balance; they've conquered pedalling. Now it's time to step things up, get them going faster, and experience more of their surroundings. As with the rest of the JNR range", the JNR 20" takes inspiration from the adult HYB range with a focus on lightness and easy, intuitive handling. A light, triple-butted alloy frame and alloy fork make the bike easy to pedal and balance. Ample standover clearance and a long wheelbase mean the bike is easier to get on and off and more stable and predictable when riding. Short-reach brake levers make mastering the art of slowing down a breeze.The addition of a seven-speed Shimano gearing opens up so many possibilities. That school run that was just a little too far or too hilly is now within reach. Those Bikeability sessions will be a breeze, and with belief in their bike and ability, there'll be no stopping them from getting out and exploring.
