The carcass allows the tyre to conform to the terrain for maximum grip and comfort while brushing off a large amount of potential damage from objects on the trail.Incorporated into the central tread of the tyres are leading edges that improve braking, acceleration and traction in all conditions while retaining a flush rolling surface. These leading edges only come into play in the wet or when riding off-road. In contrast, the large number of knobs and their greater spacing, mean the Touareg has grip on various types of wet hardpack terrain (road, roots, stones) and dry conditions (gravel, sand, dust). The side knobs of the Touareg are like that of the Skeleton s design. They are linked in pairs to save weight.
