To keep the chain running smoothly, the lubricant has to maintain its structural integrity on a molecular level when being crushed between the pins and plates due to the pulling force you are exerting by turning the cranks. This is a very small area of actual contact and will see very high levels of pressure. The final ingredients in the mix are rust and corrosion inhibitors, an anti fling additive and waterproofing to keep it all in place. Don't be fooled that Chain Juice Wet is like any old thick, wet lube just because it seems a similar consistency or colour, it's not!
