The technology has several benefits, the main being puncture resistance. The absence of an inner tube eliminates the risk of punctures due to impact/pinch or burst. Comfort is also increased due to the opportunity to ride at a lower tyre pressure so less feedback from the road s defects. There s also increased grip thanks to a greater deformation of the tyre in curves and improved performance due to no internal frictions with an inner tube. If the Sector is to be used as part of a tubeless set-up Hutchinson recommend using their Protect Air MAX latex sealant to guarantee airtightness. If there is a puncture, the sealant acts to fill the hole (until 3mm) and repair the tyre. However, the tyre can also be fitted to a standard rim and with an inner tube.The 700 x 32c tyre option also features a Hardskin fabric placed bead-to-bead and under the tread.
