This bottom bracket is equipped with a forged hollow chromoly (CrMo) steel axle, providing riders with a superior strength to weight ratio. Coming kitted out with MegaQuad technology, this model benefits from a deep-groove design, improved external water seals and sealed cartridge bearings.
A direct replacement for the bearings found in Nukeproof BSA & pressfit Hollowtech II / GXP bottom brackets, these bearings have a titanium coating which is applied in a vaporised vacuum environment, which allows its structure and density to be fine-tuned. The ti (titanium) coating helps prevent rust and damage from external elements. These MR2437 bearings are ABEC 5 certified and will suit all Nukeproof BSA & pressfit Hollowtech II / GXP bottom brackets as well as any other bottom bracket requiring a MR2437 bearing. The Park Tool BBT-29 bottom bracket remover is designed for bearing cups with an outside diameter of 39mm (e.g. Shimano® Dura-Ace® 9000 series and XTR® 980 series) as well as 16-notch bearing cups with an outside diameter of 48.5mm (e.g. FSA® MegaEvo®).
One end of the BBT-9 Park Tool bottom bracket tool securely engages the 16 notches of the bottom bracket cups, the other end engages the 8 internal splines of the crank arm adjustment cap. It also fits the rotor disc lockrings using 16 external notches. Warning: This tool has a long handle and it is possible to damage the tool or the component by over-tightening.
